Update: All lessons now include editable & digital resources. Digital resources for use with Google Apps™.

Everything you need for a successful Chemical Reactions Unit! Six complete lessons: each lesson comes with student notes, detailed teacher notes, check for understanding exit tickets, and homework. Also included in this Mega Unit Bundle is two labs, two sets of task cards, color-by-number, two doodle notes, The Pit: A Chemistry Trading Game that the whole class plays. And finally, two editable unit study guides (honors & standard), two editable unit tests (honors & standard)!

Two lessons—Balancing Chemical Equations and Types of Chemical Reactions have both a standard level lesson and an honors level lesson. In the honors lessons students will learn to balance chemical equations “by inspection”, and learn to use the Activity Series and Solubility Chart (both are included) to determine if a reaction will occur. In the standard lessons, students will learn to balance chemical equations using the “tally or counting” method, and will learn to balance and identify the five basic types of chemical reactions—synthesis, decomposition, single replacement, double replacement, and combustion.

Chemical Reactions Unit Bundle includes these concepts:
♦ Define a chemical reaction
♦ Identify evidence that indicate that a chemical reaction has occurred
♦ Write chemical equations from word equations
♦ Name the seven diatomic elements and write them correctly in a chemical equation
♦ Describe the Law of Conservation of Mass, and explain how it relates to the balanced equation
♦ Balance chemical equations
♦ Classify a reaction as synthesis, decomposition, single replacement, double replacement, or combustion
♦ Predict the products of reactions based on the reactants
Honor Students will:
♦ Use an activity series table to determine if a single replacement reaction will occur
♦ Use a solubility chart to identify the precipitate product in a double replacement reaction
♦ Write complete ionic equations
♦ Write net ionic equations
