This lab can be used as a lab practical or a culminating unit lab. This is a wonderful way to wrap up the chemistry calculations, dimensional analysis, and the metric system unit. All of these are tested during this lab.
This is a stations lab that I have partners complete together. Together partners will measure mass, volume (dry & liquid), & length, read and record measurements with the correct number of sig figs and units, make metric conversions using dimensional analysis, calculate volume, density, and percent error.
Objectives:
Read & properly record measurements with a high degree of accuracy
Convert metric units using dimensional analysis
Calculate derived measurements such as density and volume using appropriate formula, correct number of sig figs, and proper units
Calculate percent error
Prior Knowledge:
This is a culminating lab for the chemistry calculations, dimensional analysis, and metric system unit. See objectives and description above. This lab can be used as a lab practical or an end-of-unit lab.
