I give my students this form to keep in the reference section of their notebook when we run across our first formula of the year—usually the density formula. Then we complete the form each time a new formula is introduced. Students enter the name of the formula, the formula itself, and there is a column for them to list the variables and their meaning.
Students like having a “go to” place for all of their formulas for the year. I let them use their formulas page on test, so there are good at keeping it complete.
Two pages are included to copy front/back, which should be enough room for the entire year. This form can be used for any science course.
This is a resource that you will want to use year after year!
