Students will gain so much value from these doodle notes that they will be proud of and use! The included teacher notes suggest many ways of incorporating doodle notes in your class, and includes an example suggestion for completing the doodle notes. For interactive notebooks—just print at 90%, and it will fit beautifully!

Chemistry Doodle Notes! Doodling while learning forms a connection between left brain and right brain communication and enhances learning. “Cross-brain” learning has many benefits for the student—most importantly, the activity of doodling will give your students a kinesthetic connection to core concepts.

With these notes, students will determine the limiting reactant, use the limiting reactant to calculate the amount of product formed, and calculate the amount of excess reactant left over. Students will also identify situations that require them to determine the limiting reactant first, and when they don’t need to determine the limiting reactant.

Three versions for the notes included along with a suggested key.
Versions 1 & 2: these are blank notes that leave you lots of room to add your own notes. (Version two has a little more room for example problems.
Version 3: Cloze Notes with suggested key.
Choose the version best for you and your students, or use two or three different versions depending on your classes and students.

Objectives:
• Define limiting and excess reactants.
• Use stoichiometric calculations to determine the limiting and excess reactant.
• Using the limiting reactant, use stoichiometric calculations to determine the amount of product formed.
